I grew up in a multi-lingual country (Cheseaux, Switzerland) in a multi-lingual home with a Ukrainian/French dad and a self-described Tennessee hillbilly mom.  I learned English from my mom, movies, a set of Worldbook Encyclopedia, and the usual required English foreign language courses in high school. I attended university in Abilene, Texas and over the years have lived in Montreal, Quebec and Beamsville, Ontario, Canada, and Pula, Croatia. I’ve lived in Michigan for the last 20 years and never want to live anywhere else.
