I changed my screen name from Fred Herzog (a beloved teacher) to Oecolampadius.  Still not all that opaque, I suppose.  Eliza dared me to use “WordG**k”.

I discovered in the process that when you change your screen name, it changes it in all your posts.  A good idea, I think.

I notice that changing a name doesn’t mean it’s changed everywhere.  The old name remains in any text quoted before the name change, even though the name in the original may have been changed.

I confess that I had to look him up. The name apparently derives from ‘houselamp’. A giver of light then. Most apt, for, by whatever name, you’ve shed light in many obscure places for us.
