I’m not seeing anything on the main page that tells me about the Big List. I think there should be something explaining what it is and suggesting that people check it out right on the main page so new visitors to the site are directed to one of it’s main features.

Which brings up a topic of what should be “sticky” on the main site. (I’m going to add a link to the main site/big list in the forums.)

Right now, I have two sticky topics. One is the general welcome message. The other is the ad for Word Myths.

I don’t want too many sticky topics. Since this is a blog format, I think it makes sense to keep the latest content as near the top as possible.

What should be the first thing someone sees when they visit the main page of the site? A welcome message or the most recent article? Should I make the Word Myths plug non-sticky?

Keep in mind that there are the navigation links to the “About” section, which includes the welcome message and the ad, and to the Big List.
