Is anyone familiar with the expression “work away!” meaning “off you go then!”?  Does it have any connotations of “***** off!”?

Nevererdovit! though I am wondering if its a corruption of ‘walk away’ which you sometimes hear if there’s a fight brewing.

I’ve had many a boss who’s told me “Back to work!” It does have a chilling effect on whatever you happen to be doing.

I’ve never heard it either, and it’s not in Cassell.
