fonification

It shows up googling, but no clue to its meaning, if it is in fact a word at all.  I cannot find it in any online dictionary.

Nothing in OED. The google hits, of which there are negligibly few, are errors for words like fornication and fortification, etc. The reference to Wikipedia and an entry in the ‘Evangelical Dictionary of Theology’ proves to be a non-entry with nothing but the heading and is, I suspect, an error.

In short, no, it isn’t.

In short, no, it isn’t.

But it could be!  What do we want it to mean?

"Phonification” seems to be getting some use as a term for adapting or importing software, music, etc., for cell phones.  Possibly a misspelling of that?

FON is the largest WiFi community in the world. FON is a Community of people making WiFi universal and free. Our vision is WiFi everywhere made possible by the members of the Community, Foneros. We share some of our home Internet connection and get free access to the Community’s FON Spots worldwide!

I say someone should un-nerd-ify FON.
...
Do you have an explanation for the unnerdification of fonification? Or is it just the verbification of nounificationings which is the questionnessification?

A discussion of FON and mention of fonification, which seems to be about establishing a FON WiFi network.  It may just be speculification, though.
