Unable to post on thread

When I tried to post on the Word thread, I get: Error Message:  Unable to receive your submission at this time. Puzzling, because I had just posted on the first names thread, and managed to start this one (well, I’m making assumptions here, but if it didn’t work you wouldn’t be reading this). Not sure whether it’s to do with me or the site.

For what it’s worth, I agreed with aldi, the last poster on that thread.

Is it the old character limit problem? I got some kind of error when trying to post a message under 4 characters.

My post was: ‘I agree with aldi,’ so presumably not.

The site does seem to be playing up. On the front page this message is visible:

Sounds like a transient server problem. Let me know if the problem persists.

You see this false antedating when you open the page within seconds of someone posting. If you refresh after a minute or two it will go away, and the correct time will be displayed. It’s nothing new; it’s been happening all along. You just haven’t noticed.
