I thought I had slept through 1999.  Silly me.

Man, blog took off fast.  (Some of you may find this ancient LH post amusing.)

The post appears to have evaporated. The link on the OP takes me to 1999 and the blog ends at 1999.

I mistyped the year. 2000 should be up tomorrow.

Memory must be playing tricks on me. I would have pegged the coinage of “blog” to the year 1997.

“Apparently” it was Peter Merholz who first used the term on his, well, blog in April 1999.

bling, n. The hip-hop term for ostentatious jewelry debuts.

I’d be interested to know whether the synonym “bling-bling” preceded “bling” or vice-versa.
