Here’s Alex Games’s book about the BBC2/OED TV series of 2006 looking for antedates to other modern words or phrases. Contributions had to be either emailed or posted in. (My only claim to fame is in there.)

FAQ dated to 1989? That seems late, wouldn’t surprise me if there are antedates.

EDIT: Ah, I see someone has already found an example on usenet from 1987.
