I’m using this comic in class today as an example of choosing the appropriate register when writing.

A great choice, Dave! Not very many educational texts are both witty and instructive. Whether the resulting food would be palatable and readily digestible would depend, I suppose, on the dinosaur.

I really enjoyed the next strip along too, Let’s Make Another Food - Making apple pie from scratch (and when he says from scratch he’s not kidding).

I liked the previous one, which appeared to be aimed at people using commas to signify a quotation.

I’m not seeing any rollover text.  Where’s the magic spot?

The rollover text does appear but it’s very hit and miss. Hovering over any of the panels should bring it up but it’s very temperamental. I have to keep moving the pointer away and bringing it back to make it appear sometimes.

Odd.  I finally got it to appear but the trick was to leave the cursor in one place and QUIT FIDGETING with it.

To reveal the ‘rollover’ text (for what it’s worth), bring the cursor from outside the strip’s boundaries and place it on any of the picture. The text disappears if the cursor is moved.  To reinstate the text the cursor must be taken outside the perimeter of the pictures and brought back.  The text message remains the same anywhere on page one. Page two has a different text.

Odd.

It took me some time, but I finally got the joke.
