let me join the preceding posters in saying “thank you”. You conveyed a great deal in a few words—as Isaiah himself does. I am neither a religious nor a learned man, but I used to love listening to “A Moment of Poetry”, the readings from the sages and the prophets, at the end of each day’s broadcast from Israel Television (ITV had no other script writers anywhere near as good ;-). There was a famous reader named Amikam Gurevitch, whose rendering of Isaiah 56 would reduce me to tears. I have never read, or heard, a more moving statement of the universal brotherhood of man.
