Grammar quiz (with prize!)

It seems being ineligible for the book prize has obviated any discussion of the puzzlers in the language quiz. I was anticipating lively debate :(. They can’t all be Britishisms.

I didn’t find that all that interesting, mostly minor nits designed to trip someone up or that required arcane knowledge to grasp what the issue was. It also doesn’t help that they’ve taken the page with the questions down. Yes the contest is closed, but that doesn’t mean they need to delete the questions from the web. That kind of kills discussion.

To me, it came across as “guess which prescriptivist shibboleths the quiz creator adheres to, and which he does not”.
