A forcible rebuke

If memory serves, I acquired ‘forcible rebuke’ from the classical text on Sunday Bible Lessons, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy. What I am now looking for is page and paragraph information for the citation.

Today, Science proves Religion Correct. Perhaps tomorrow it shall Invent Magic.

Page and paragraph will vary from edition to edition, so it is worthless without specifying exactly what edition of the book you have at hand. And if you have the book at hand, you can look it up yourself.

It’s available online if you want to search it. Just Google the book title and it will come up.

Googling “forcible rebuke” turns up 16 cites, none relating to Eddy.

Perhaps it already has and one simply lacks the acuity to see it.

Let’s get Aristotle with it:

Inasmuch as the Qur’an is not a book, but rather a recitation of words, I am reading Science and Health not in hardcover or paperback, but rather freely over the Internet.

The text is adorned with line numbers, which are immutable, regardless of edition. I will be satisfied if you fetch me the line number of the phrase in question, you little word hounds.

Why do you expect us to do the gruntwork for you?  Languagehat has already pointed you to a site that contains the searchable text, and simply Googling on Eddy + “Science and Health” turns up several such sites.  The site you link to also has a search feature.

I’m seeing a pattern here.  Do you have some sort of phobia that prevents you from doing your own web-searching?

Well, Dr. Techie, perhaps I am trying to teach you something. Did you notice to which page of the text the link leads?

On the evidence of your previous posts, the day you have something to teach Dr Techie will come around the same time as the Greek Kalends.

Oh, I don’t know.  I’m increasingly suspicious that Thews could, for instance, teach me how to resubscribe to the list under a new screen name after having been banned for trolling.  But I don’t expect to need to know that, and I would guess that the switch in hosting from EZboard to here made it relatively easy, anyway.  Whether he can do the trick again without a site-change is something we may get a chance to find out.

You mean Taidhbhse?  Close but not a match.  Besides, I don’t think he was ever banned.
