It’s indexed. If you go to advanced search and limit the domain to wordorigins.org it pops right up.
Where it appears on the Google’s list in a general search is entirely dependent on the vagaries of Google’s algorithm, which depends in part on your own search history and is also continually changing. The Big List entry for “blurb,” for example, is #2 when I search for “blurb etymology.” Why glitch is way down the list, I don’t know. Perhaps because few people have linked to that particular page. (That’s one of the factors.)
If I had a for profit site, I might care more about this. But I really don’t have the time or inclination to write my site so that it is optimized for search engine rankings.
