In a recent thread, the latest posting consists of several hundred words, of which about one in every twenty is either “I”, “me”, or “my”.
Most contributors’ posts are usually interesting, but when a thread slides into “bickering” mode (I said…you said…no, I didn’t…yes, you did…what I meant was…) one’s interest in it tends to flag, all the more so when the bickering is long-winded.

“Down, Ego --- down, I say!”

I’ve banged on about this before, but I’ll say it again: I find it intensely annoying when people quote the entirety of the comment rather than the one bit they are responding to; when it’s a long comment, I have to scroll down to even see the response.  It seems to me this only started becoming common in the last year or two; I don’t know why people do it, and I wish they’d stop.

Perhaps TL;DR is indicated.
