changing one to two is very difficult

Not really. You just do a global search and replace for < .[space]> to < .[space][space] >.

Which will also add an extra space to something like “Surely you jest, Mr. Feynman”

Yet another study of the vexed question:

The war is alive again of late because a study that came out this month [May, 2018] from Skidmore College.
The study is, somehow, the first to look specifically at this question. It is titled: “Are Two Spaces Better Than One?
The Effect of Spacing Following Periods and Commas During Reading.”

Thanks for the wake-up!  But aren’t two postings better than one?

Two posts serve to encourage but three convince.  ©The Bellman
